Project Title

Candy Crush Soccer Season

Role

Braze, In-Game WebView, Multilingual (26 languages, inc. Arabic RTL)

Date

June, 2026

Client

King

The Brief

With the FIFA World Cup 2026 as the backdrop, King asked us to create an in-game campaign experience for Candy Crush Saga. The brief was to build something that captured the energy of the tournament while feeling completely at home in the Candy Crush universe — bringing the excitement of the World Cup into the game and making it personal for every player.

The experience needed to work across both iOS and Android, support 26 languages including Arabic, and surface live, personalised player data within the game. It’s the most technically layered campaign we’ve delivered for King to date.

The Experience

Soccer Season is built around two sections, accessible via a tabbed layout within the game.

My Stats is the personal heart of the campaign. Every player sees their own name, avatar, and personalised messaging from the moment they open it. As the tournament progresses and data becomes available, the view expands to show each player’s full picture — their league, how they rank within their country, their best score, and their leaderboard position. The messaging adapts to where each player sits in the campaign, so the experience always feels relevant and current.

Programme gives players a clear view of the Soccer Season tournament structure — five leagues presented with imagery and descriptive content, opening up progressively as each stage of the tournament gets underway.

Design & Build

We handled everything from UX and visual design through to build and delivery, working from wireframes and an asset toolkit supplied by King. Designs were reviewed collaboratively in Figma before development began, with multiple rounds of feedback built into the timeline.

Design and development ran in parallel from the start, which allowed us to validate the core experience in a near-final test environment ahead of the campaign going live — compressing the overall schedule without cutting corners on quality.

Multilingual Support

Soccer Season is the most linguistically expansive campaign we’ve delivered for King, covering 26 languages including five new additions. Arabic was among the new languages, requiring full right-to-left layout support alongside the existing left-to-right languages — switching automatically based on the player’s language setting. Layout integrity was validated across all 26 languages as part of QA.

Testing & QA

With live personalised data, 26 languages, two mobile platforms, and a fixed launch date, testing was treated as a first-class part of the project rather than a final step. We ran thorough internal QA across devices and screen sizes, covering all dynamic content, language layouts, navigation, and campaign tracking.

A dedicated preview environment gave King’s wider team — including those not directly involved in the build — a consistent place to review and sign off the experience at each stage. After handover we remained on hand throughout King’s own testing and sign-off process, making sure the path to launch was smooth.
