Marmalade Game Studio recently updated their brand identity and approached us to not only integrate this impressive new look but also improve all aspects of their online presence. They specifically asked for Wordpress to be used as the CMS, an area in which we have a great deal of experience, however they wanted a large degree of in-built flexibility so that they could update the content on almost all areas of the site but in particular the product pages.
The new logo and brand guide produced by Marmalade's internal design team was to be the basis for the overall look-and-feel of the site which really needed to showcase this new and improved branding. We used the distinctive brand shapes wherever possible either as background decoration or primary UI elements in conjunction with the striking brand colours to make the site feel truly, Marmalade.
We spent a great deal of our time developing the individual game pages which were the main focus for Marmalade as a way of showcasing their catalogue. We gave them the ability to create custom designs for each game and the CMS functionality to be able to add it extremely easily, thus allowing each page to illustrate each games individual art style.
All other pages were created in such a way as the client can update images and text allowing the site to grow as they do.
