Create a Facebook application where WWE fans can submit their favourite ever WrestleMania memories. Other fans should be able to vote for their favourites and the highest rated shall win a prize. As posts will appear on the official WWE Facebook page all submissions will have to be moderated before going live.
The client wanted the app to run on Facebook pages in all of their main territories, so we first needed to create a language select page and translate all the app copy into the various languages.
The main purpose of the app is to display all of the memories that fans submit in a clear and easily accessible way. The first page is simply a chronological list of all submissions, the body text restricted to 2 lines so we can display more submissions per page, but if clicked on it opens the post so it can be read in full.
Memories are also split into ‘Top Viewed’ and ‘Top Rated’, so that people can access and read the most popular post easily, and also see how many votes they need to be in with a chance of winning the prize.
One of the most important aspects of the app was making it easy for fans to submit their memories and to be able to keep track of whether or not they were approved to appear on the site. We created a very simple form where they would firstly select the WrestleMania event where their favourite memory took place from a list of all WrestleMania events, then simply enter a title and a detailed description of the memory.
Once a fan’s memory was submitted it was sent to our custom built ‘moderation’ system and appears in the ‘Yours’ tab within the app as ‘Pending’ until the time it is either approved or rejected. The client was sent a notification of a new submission by email, and could approve or reject it from buttons within that email. Depending on the result of the moderation, the status of the post was updated within the app so the user could see when submissions are published.
